Chris Fury is a lover of all things nerdy. From comics, cartoons, gaming anime and more! Being exposed to comic book culture and hero’s in general at a very young age, he always tried living a moral code that his family and heroes he looked up to provided. Although, he didn’t start collecting comics until his teenage years. The culture was always a staple in his life. Originally born and raised in Akron, Ohio, Chris moved to Cleveland in 2009. There he began collecting comics from family owned book store, Carol and John’s Comic Shop. Time went on and he decided to enroll in Ohio Media School. Being that he wanted to work in entertainment as a writer/director/producer for television and film. He ended up using his distinct voice to voice mock commercials and eventually liners, intros and bumpers for “Media Day” at OMS.
It was then Chris decided to start talking about the things he loves “Nerd Culture” during one of his broadcasting class he was told he had a knack of talking about the comics genre and entertainment surrounding it. He was introduced to podcasting by his instructor John Robert Duesenberry. Who then introduced him to “Tommy D” of Circle of Nerds. He became a member of the crew and began talking all things Star Wars and everything in between. Several weeks later, he acted as press at Wizard World Cleveland. Which allowed him to interview several celebrities who work in entertainment. It was also the weekend that the world “shut down” due to COVID becoming a force of nature.
It was then that Blerd’s Eyeview was born. A podcast/web show that talks geek from a POC perspective. While also showcasing POC creatives that are in nerd culture and entertainment. Whether if they are a cosplayer, nerdcore artist or indie comics writer or artist. They had a safe place and platform to discuss their projects or just discuss their love of the genre without judgement or bias.
It’s been three years since the creation of Blerd’s Eyeview and has begun doing live in-person panels at conventions such as Blerdcon and J1Con with his casemates. Chris Fury has also begun doing voice work in audio dramas and is also the voice cast director for Blerd Station’s upcoming project: Robo Lobo. While also becoming the head of the news core team for the new streaming service.
Chris Fury can be heard on Blerd’s Eyeview wherever you listen to podcasts including Spotify, Apple and iHeartRadio. The audio dramas: Talk Story To Me as the villain Dathomis and Hostel as Erik.
